Native American Dancers
Throughout generations Native Americans have used dance as a key to keeping their culture alive. Dances have been used for ceremonies, story telling and entertainment. And through these dances, the younger generation is able to keep a continued interest in their culture.
Throughout the United States and Canada, there are many different versions. And although the dances are changing and evolving, they have strong roots in history as well as signs of modern influence. The dances that are performed or shared with the public are called "social" or "intertribal dances."
